New Facebook Page Layout – RIP PTAT!

Facebook has rolled out a new look for Pages. I love the changes.  It is more streamlined and a better experience for viewers and admins.  Most, of all, I love that they removed a major irritation (see point 5). Here are my favorite changes:

1. Page Name Change.  Most noticeable is the change in the placement and color of the Page name. Instead of being below the cover photo and black, it is now INSIDE the cover photo and white. This is going to necessitate new cover images for many as the white letters need to be on a dark background in order to show.

FB cover changes - Gina

The title has been moved in the new Facebook Layout. www.facebook.com/ginacarr

2. Single Column Timeline. Posts are all in a SINGLE column on the right side. This is SO much better than the two column format that was confusing. The width has changed from 403 pixels to 511 pixels wide. This allows much wider, nicer custom images.

FB changes - Dianna

Dianna Booher’s Page shows the right hand column for posts. www.facebook.com/DiannaBooher

3. Page Administrators Panel removed. For Page Administrators, the administrative data has been reduced significantly and moved to be around the Cover image. This is a much better experience for the user.

FB Cover change - Terry

Check out Terry Brock’s page at www.facebook.com/SpeakerTerryBrock.

4. Description and Tabs removed. Facebook has removed the description and “tab” features. These “blocks” have been turned into menu-like tabs that are much more similar to a regular website. You can change two of the tabs by selecting the apps that you want displayed. I never liked the custom tabs and I am glad to see them go!

5. People Talking About This – PTAT – has been removed. Hallelujah! This is my favorite thing about the new Page layout. Since Facebook makes it so hard to get traffic to Pages, they were adding insult to injury by broadcasting to the world how many people were actually interacting with the page.

Facebook Page changes

This eSpeakers Page still has the old layout. www.fb.com/espeakers

I believe it is better for those numbers to be private for Page Administrators only. Perhaps I will start marketing my Page a bit more now that this number is no longer visible to the world.

There are many more changes to the computer version and the mobile layouts. These are a few of my favorites. What do you like or not like about the new Facebook Page look?

Note: As of this writing, some Pages do not have the new look. All Pages will have the new design as of mid-June 2014.

Digital Marketing – Pictures ARE Worth a 1000 Words! Where to Find Free Images for Your Posts

If you are doing any kind of marketing today, you need great images to get your point across.  Pictures are “short codes” to the brain – they register information at a different level than mere words.  Plus, they look pretty. 🙂

Here are some of my favorite ways to add images and graphics to my blog and facebook posts:

Free

Microsoft Office – Beautiful free images. Very easy to access.

Free-Graphics.com – Free clipart.  Nice images.

MorgueFile.com

Wikimedia Commons – a database of over 14 million media files to which anyone can contribute.

Wikipedia’s List of Public Domain Image Resources – a treasure trove of websites with public domain pictures.

U.S. Government Sites – Any .gov site has content that is automatically placed into the public domain. Unless an image states otherwise, you can use it copyright free.   I particularly like these:

DotGovWatch.com –The Best Copyright-Free Photo Libraries – Stunning copyright free photos.
U.S. Government Photos and Images

Free Image-Generating Tool

Zemanta – I use this tool for blogging.  It brings up related pictures based on the words in the post. Works with WordPress, Blogger, Typepad, Tumblr, and other platforms.

Low Cost Images

iclipart.com – This is my GO TO resource. 1 year subscription is less than $40 US. Tons of high quality pictures and clipart.

istockphoto.com

bigstock.com

If you use a photo from a third party source, give credit.  I did an article in Technorati.com recently where we used an image of Kobe Bryant from Facebook.  We noted at the bottom of the article that the photo was from Kobe’s Facebook page.  You can see the article here:

When a photo already includes a name or website, I do NOT make a separate mention of the source.

How to Name Your Facebook Page – 5 Keys to Getting Found

Marketing Expert Gina Carr tells how to name your Facebook Page.People often ask me: “Gina, what should I name my Facebook Page?!  Should I include my personal name or my business name?  The name of my book?  My city?”

People really struggle with this and they make a lot of mistakes. In fact, this is one of the biggest mistakes I see people making when they create a Facebook Page.  They don’t set it up properly to be found by search engines, to help with online reputation, or to be used as a marketing tool.

Whenever I see an ad that says “Find us on Facebook,” I have to laugh.  Do you know how hard it can be to find someone on Facebook?!

Over the years, I’ve named a lot of pages for a lot of businesses.  When creating the name, I think very strategically about how people will be looking for this business.

Many people choose their official corporate name.  This is usually a mistake. Most people have no idea what your official business name is.

Why is your Facebook Page name so important?

1 . You want people to be able to find you if they need your products or services (search engine optimization).

2. You need your name and your business name to dominate the search engines in the event that you are ever the victim of a cyber-smearing attack where someone seeks to damage your online reputation.

3.  Your page name can act as an advertisement for you as you “walk around” Facebook as your Page.

How to Name Your Facebook Page by Marketing Expert Gina Carr

Just to be clear, I am NOT talking about Facebook user names like www.facebook.com/username.  If you don’t have one, you need to get one.  It needs to be short enough to be understood but long enough to be meaningful.  The primary purpose of having a user name is so that you can use it outside of Facebook – on business cards, in print ads, in emails, and such.

The Facebook Page Name appears to the right of your profile picture and underneath your cover picture.

How to Name Your Facebook Page by Marketing Expert Gina Carr

Here are the five key factors for creating findable, effective name.

  1.  Personal Name.  For most small businesses, the owner’s personal name should be included.  This is because people are more likely to remember your personal name than they are to remember your business name.  It is also important to include the author name on a book Page.

How to Name Your Facebook Page by Marketing Expert Gina Carr2. Business Name.  Include this if your business name is well known and people will be searching for it.  Also include the business name if your business has a brick and mortar location.

If your business is a “personality driven business,” then you can just use your personal name.  Choose this option if you intend to market a number of different products and services – that all have to do with you – from your page.  I have chosen to do this at this time.

If the name of your business doesn’t tell much about the business, try adding an explanation.

3. Function – Product or Service. People might not be looking for you specifically, but they might be looking for what you do.  Include your product or service in your name.  For example, your Facebook Page name might include Pool Service, Real Estate Agent, Hearing Aid Center, Sales Training, Marketing Expert.  Use the words your potential customers would use, not “inside baseball” words. For example, most consumers would use the word “doctor” instead of “physician.”  I recommend using a tool like Google’s keyword search tool to see what words are searched most often.  You will likely be surprised.

4. Location*.  If your business focuses on a local marketplace, include your city here.  Best if you can include your town or suburb and the nearest large city. (Note – I’ve just received guidelines from Facebook that say you can not include a city.  However, I have not seen this to be true.  Check these guidelines at the bottom of this article.*)

How to Name Your Facebook Page by Marketing Expert Gina Carr

If your business is global like a speaker, consultant, or author, you might want to eliminate the location.

5. Length. Don’t worry that your name might be too long.  I believe that the longer your Page name, the better as it provides better advertising for your business. As of this writing, it appears that you can use up to 74 characters for your page name.

How to Create a Facebook Page by marketing expert Gina Carr.

In the past, Facebook would not allow you to change your name after you reached 100 fans. Now, they MIGHT allow you to change it.  You must make a request.  To change the name of an existing page, choose:  EDIT PAGE > UPDATE INFO > NAME.

How to Name a Facebook Page by marketing expert Gina Carr

Or, you might be able to change it yourself.  If so, you will see this:

You will receive a confusing error message if you put in too many characters.  It will say “Our automated system will not allow that name.”

In summary, your Facebook Page name is very important for several reasons: search engine optimization, reputation management, and marketing.  Put some thought into it so that you get a perfect name that includes the five key ingredients: Personal Name, Business Name, Function – Product/Service, Location, and Length.   Good luck!

If you need any help with this, please just leave your page name in the comments below (or post on my Facebook wall or give me a call).  I love to work with people who are excited about Facebook marketing!

Other great Page names to consider:

How to name your facebook page by marketing expert Gina Carr.

*** Just days after this article was posted, I received guidelines from Facebook for naming a page. They include:

Page names cannot:

– include words in all capital or lowercase letters unless the name is an acronym
– be all lowercase letters
– include the symbols *, |, _, ^, {, }, and ~
– use the qualifiers, “official” or “unofficial” to describe their legitimacy
– use location qualifiers (ex: Facebook – Austin) <<< This conflicts with my point number 3.  I am surprised at this rule.
– use intra-capitalization (ex: FaceBook)

Additionally, Page names must:

– begin with a capital letter or number
– use proper grammar, punctuation, and spacing

Klout Power – How To Raise Your Klout score? Have a Birthday!

People often ask me: Gina, how do I raise my Klout score? “It’s easy,” I say. “Just have a birthday.”

When someone has a birthday, Facebook does an excellent job of letting your friends know about it several days in advance – if you’ve made your birthday public.*

Typically, lots of people post on your Facebook personal profile wall on this day and a few days before. This gives you a lot of Klout juice which results in a big jump to your Klout score.

Take a look at this example. This Klout users score went up by 6 points in just a few days. That is a significant and highly unusual increase now that Klout’s scoring is much more stable. Significant daily fluctuations in Klout scores decreased greatly after the infamous #Kloutfail of October 2011 when Klout changed it’s algorithm to reflect data from 90 days instead of 30.

Still, it appears from the Birthday Boost Phenomenon that Klout must use a weighted average which gives more weight to immediate past activity. A simple average would not yield such a significant increase.

It will be interesting to follow this user’s activity to see if and when the score drops back to this users previous “normal” score of around 55.

Birthdays are special events with a beginning and an end.  Thus there is a sense of urgency for people wanting to wish you well.  People recognize that birthdays are important and they want to be part of your special day, to let you know they care.

How can you create more special events on your Facebook profile?  Perhaps you can celebrate other holidays – established ones and special ones. You could also sponsor special events like a Facebook “chat” or “office hours” on your wall to answer questions once a week.

What about you? Have you seen your Klout score jump significantly after a birthday or other special event?  What ideas do you have to “simulate” the Birthday Boost by creating other special event?  Please share in the comments below or on my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ginacarrfanpage.  And, I invite you to share this post with your friends if you found it helpful.

*Safety note – only publicize your birth month and date on social networking sites. Don’t publicize your birth year as that is an identity theft issue according to experts.

Facebook Marketing – 5 Things You Do Not Need for Facebook Engagement by Dorien Morin-van Dam – commentary

In a new Facebook class I am taking, Mari Smith said: “Content is King but Engagement is Queen – and she rules the house.”  Very true.

The following is a n excellent article about how to get engagement on Facebook pages by Dorien Morin-van Dam.  Dorien’s page gets a lot of engagement.  These days, that is really hard to do.

I agree with most of Dorien’s points.  However, I respectfully disagree with her about #1 – Have short page names.

I like to see long Facebook names that are meaningful for the following reasons:

1. It is so hard to find things in Facebook search. Most people are going to look for a person’s name versus the page name.

2. When using the “Page As” and posting on other pages, it tells the viewer much more about the page than a short name. It acts as a short advertisement.

I don’t see where having a longer names hurts with @tagging as Dorien suggests. However, I am open to learning.

I hope you enjoy Dorien’s post.  Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Facebook Marketing: New Timeline Cover Shots are Prime Real Estate – Use Them Wisely

Personal Profile: Facebook is going to require you to convert to the new timeline any day now. http://www.facebook.com/about/timelineYou will need to select or design a landscape oriented picture for this. You can make it very promotional or very personal. It is up to you. However, as it is prime “real estate,” you want to use it well.

Here are a couple of examples:www.fb.com/ginacarr (personal – showing a picture from Australia – a very special trip I took recently)

The Biggest Mistake People Make when using Facebook for Business

The biggest mistake I see people making on Facebook Pages today is that they don’t make it easy for people to find them.  There are new features in Facebook that make this easy to do.

The easiest way to fix this “biggest mistake” is to “link up” your Facebook Page to your Personal Profile and vice versa.  Here is an example and links to “how to’s.”

This video shows how to link your Personal Profile to your Facebook Page.

This link explains the why and how to link your Facebook Page to your Personal Profile.

Another important way to get found is to put your personal name in the title of your Facebook Page.  For example, you could title your page something like this:  “The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss” or “Learn Facebook Tips with John Doe” or “The Social Media Magician ~ Gina Carr.”

This makes it easy for people to find you and it makes the experience more personal and thus more social.

Never forget that “social media marketing” is all about people connecting with people.  Even the biggest brands attempt to personalize their Pages and the user experience.

FACEBOOK TIP: Stop Others from Tagging You in Photos

Tired of being tagged in compromising or unflattering photos?  Now you can fix that!

Phones ringing in the middle of the night are never a good thing.  Such was the case a few weeks ago when several friends called to tell me that I had been tagged in a really “bad” picture on Facebook.  How bad could it be I wondered.

Someone had taken the liberty to tag me in a picture of two ladies wearing too little clothing and having too much fun! I assure you it wasn’t me or anyone that I knew.

Still, this tagging-without-permission caused me distress and possibly a damaged reputation.

Here is how to stop those annoying, unflattering and reputation damaging tags:
Step 1:  Choose Privacy Settings from the top right menu.

Step 2:  Choose “How Tags Work”

Step 3:  Choose “Tag Review”

Step 4:  Choose “Turn on Tag Review”

That’s it!  No more getting tagged in photos without your permission.  Thanks Facebook!

KLOUT Power – Connect with People You Already Know

One of the best ways to raise your Klout score is to connect and engage with people you already know.  The easiest ways to do this – but most often overlooked – is to connect your social networks with your email database.

Although this can be a bit time consuming and tedious, it is well worth the effort.

Most of the social media platforms allows you to import a file with your contacts and send out an automatic invite.  Some of these procedures are simple.  Sometimes you will need to import a CSV file – Comma-Separated Values – see the link at the bottom of this post for easy instructions on importing CSV from Outlook* or Gmail.** .  Although it might sound a bit intimidating, it is actually quite easy.

Facebook Personal Profile – Invite Friends

Facebook Page – Invite FANS/LIKES

Twitter – Add Followers from various accounts or import CSV

Linkedin – Add Connections – Choose Contacts > Add Contacts

*Create a CSV file from OUTLOOK

This post does a great job of explaining this process.

Facebook for Business – 5 Components of a Great Facebook Page Featuring Sheri McConnell’s Page

I just discovered someone who is doing a great job with her Facebook Page and I wanted to share it with you.  Sheri McConnell is doing a lot of things right.  Here are the top 5 things that make her page a big success.

1.  Descriptive Page Name that includes her business and her personal name.  Smart for search.  This point is very important.

2.  Great Profile Picture that tells a lot about what she does but also includes her personal picture – very important.  Also, she structured it such that her face comes up as the “thumbnail” for her page.

3.  Interesting Content on her wall that tells a lot about what she is doing in her business and her personal life.  It’s a good combination of “Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock and Roll” as the song goes.  She has great interaction with her tribe.

4.  Good Landing Page that takes you to her opt-in page and allows you to get here “FREE KIT.”  I like the fact that it takes you to her website versus just doing an optin here.  She has obviously put a lot of work into her website and it shows a lot of credibility.  Overall, I think it is worth the risk of losing them to take them to her website.  Another option – add a quick email optin on the Facebook landing page – the page people who haven’t LIKEd her (become her fans) go first.

5.  Great Video Wall – informative, helpful videos that showcase her knowledge and expertise.  They also showcase how she works with her clients and that is a 24/7 sales tool for her business.

We can learn a lot from a Facebook Page like Sheri’s.  What do you like best about it?  What do you like least?

Facebook for Business: Top 10 Reasons You Need a Facebook Page for Your Business

A lot of people use their Personal Profile for their business instead of a Facebook Page.  Although there appear to be some advantages to this, it is actually not a good thing to do for a variety of reasons.

First of all, let’s clarify what is meant by each of these terms:

Most B2C businesses need a Facebook Page.

Personal Profile – Profiles represent individuals and must be held under an individual name.  This is your “home base” for Facebook – the entity that has Friends, LIKEs things, etc.

Facebook Page – allow an organization, business, celebrity, or band to maintain a professional presence on Facebook.

1.  Facebook clearly says you should NOT ask a person to be a FRIEND if you don’t know him/her.  Let’s say you like the business but you don’t know the owner.  Therefore, you would be very unlikely to “support” this business.  While you might not be comfortable sending a FRIEND request, you might be very comfortable LIKE-ing the Page.

2.  Facebook frequently makes it difficult to even send a FRIEND request.  They block such requests for a variety of reasons.

3.  You can easily send an UPDATE to all fans (LIKEers) with just a couple of buttons.  You can not do anything like this with a Personal Profile.  (Note:  As of fall 2011, Facebook has removed this feature in an effort to encourage Pages to advertise more.)

4.  You can run an AD which drives people to your Facebook PAGE – not so for a Personal Profile.

5.  You have an INSIGHTS function that allows tracking of page visitors and other helpful statistics.

6.  You can assign an ADMINISTRATOR to help you manage your page without giving access to your personal inbox, photos, data, etc.

7.  Your Personal Profile is limited to 5000 friends.  There is no limit to a PAGE LIKEs (fans).

8.  You have SEO (Search Engine Optimization) benefits that aren’t available on your Personal Profile.

9.  Privacy Settings – unless the owner of the page turns off the privacy settings, a viewer can’t even see what the business is about.

10.  Facebook Pages are ACCESSIBLE by all.  Your page can be viewed by someone who is not even on Facebook.  This is a big PLUS.  This allows you to use Facebook as your primary web page if you don’t want to maintain a separate blog or web site.

It is really best to keep personal and business separate for the same reasons that most people have a store, office or another place that they meet clients.  Even most home-based businesses that have client visitors have a separate area for such meetings.  Home is home.  Business is business.

I’d like to give my Geeky Gal Pals Donna Gilliland, Dawn Gartin, and Charlyn Shelton much of the credit here for helping me think through these issues more clearly.
While I might be interested in this business, I am not going to Add them as a Friend if  I don’t personally know the owner.

Facebook for Business – Why the Skype-Facebook Video Chat Feature is a Powerful Tool for Business

Skype and Facebook have just rolled out a new “Video Chat” feature that enables people to see and interact with their friends in real-time while they are in Facebook. This feature is great for business because it enables buyers to get to know, like and trust sellers much faster and easier than ever before. I can think of several instances where my business and my client’s business could have been greatly enhanced with this ability to quickly and easily connect “eyeball to eyeball.”

Relationship Building – By using Facebook’s video chat to interact easily and seamlessly with prospective clients “eyeball to eyeball,” a business person can dramatically increase the speed with which a potential client can cross the ever present, completely invisible “KLT (Know-Like-Trust) Bridge.”

When people can “look you in the eye” – even over a computer screen, they are more likely to develop a relationship with you that is stronger than a phone call, email, or Facebook post. This is true whether the initial relationship was developed IRL – In Real Life – or virtually. It is especially true for the millions of people who are doing the majority of their business over the internet.

Simplicity – Until now, it has been a bit cumbersome – some would say difficult – to schedule a video chat with other people. The way that Facebook has integrated this feature into the regular Online Chat and Messaging features that people are already comfortable using, makes this incredibly simple.

For example, I work with people all over the world. Most of these people I’ve never “seen” face to face. Although I’ve used Skype video for many years, I am usually met with resistance when I suggest someone install it on their computer so that we can “meet face-to-face.”  After trying to walk a few people through it, I realized it was just easier to connect over the phone.

That obstacle – downloading an application that seems scary, intimidating and difficult – just disappeared today thanks to this new venture between Skype and Facebook. Although the Facebook application does require the downloading of software, it seems less intimidating and more user friendly than other alternatives. Plus, because so many people will be using it, it will be almost impossible to ignore.

Accessibility – With Facebook’s 750+ million users, Skype’s video chat feature will now be easily accessible by everyone – young and old. Just think about how much easier it will be for a merchant in Kansas City to talk to a factory owner in Hong Kong about a product he wants built.

I can see many brick and mortar businesses benefiting from this as well. Let’s consider a little shop that sells a special handbag. A potential customer from thousands of miles away might be more likely to initiate a chat to discuss price, styles, and shipping versus getting on a website and trying to figure it all out. For some strange reason, people like to do business with people. Imagine that!

Let’s take this a step further. What if an up and coming designer could have an easy video chat with a potential customer? How cool would it be for someone to be able to say – “Yes, it’s a great bag. I got to meet the designer on Facebook. She showed lots of different styles. It was awesome. I gave her my credit card right over Facebook and I had it the next day!” If a customer talks directly to a buyer like that, price no longer matters.

The ability for people who already do most of their sales online will dramatically benefit from this as well. By taking a couple of moments to directly connect with potential customers via Facebook video chat powered by Skype, consultants, trainers, and sales people all over the globe should be able to “seal the deal” faster and easier than ever.

The only downside I see is that I am going to have to start wearing make-up on a regular basis again. And fixing my hair. Argh. Working from home just lost a couple of it’s many benefits. However, I think that the ability to connect directly with people will pay enormous benefits – personally and professionally.

The world just got smaller. And friendlier. And a lot more connected. Thanks Skype. Thanks Facebook.

Gotta run and put on some makeup. It’s time to “meet” some of my “old” friends – people I’ve been communicating regularly with for years. I can’t wait!

How To Use It: Of course, both parties must have a webcam. (If you don’t have one, you can get a great one for less than $50 at Amazon. The one I recommend is this HD model from Logitec http://ow.ly/5y1vy – affiliate link).

There are two ways to use access this feature – via Online Chat and directly via a Personal Profile. With Online Chat, set your Facebook Chat status to “online”. Then initiate a Facebook video chat right from the Chat box. Or, go to your friend’s Personal Profile. If they are online, a “call” button will appear at the top right of their Profile Page. If your friend does not answer, you can leave a video message. Your recorded video message will be waiting in your friend’s Inbox the next time they check their messages. Facebook for Business – Party on the Page!

If you have a Facebook page, you know it can be tough getting participation on the page.  So, here’s an idea that you can use:  collaborate with some friends to throw a “Party on the Page!”

Here is how it could work. Recruit some friends to join you in a Closed (or even Secret) Facebook Group.  Doing so will allow you to collaborate privately – out of public view.  Then use the following guidelines that I just shared with members of one of my groups.

***************  Party on the Page – Roadmap to more Fans & More Profits ****************

1.  Each day, ONE page is designated as the – “party place” for the day.

2. The way this can be determined is that on a first come, first served basis, each
member can “submit” a page as the Party on the Page place for the day by entering the
following “reserving comment”* below the post on the page entitled:  “Party on the Page Reservations – reserve your party date below.”

“POTP Tuesday, June 14: www.fb.com/ginacarrfanpage – my own business page (or a
page that I manage, or a friend’s, etc.). Preferred posts: questions about social media –
tools, strategies, how to’s, best practices, etc.”

Facebook “mindset” is similar to throwing candy at a parade.

3. Each member will then go to the page, LIKE it and “throw candy” – post, comment,
thank, etc. Think of throwing candy at a parade – have fun, share the love, say good things,
etc.

4. To get the most “mileage” out of this for both parties, do some of your posting as one of
your pages (Post as Page). Also, do some posting as yourself personally (to draw the
bees to the honey).

5. Ideally, you will go to the page a few times during the day to “like” something and to post
a quick comment, e.g. Cool!, Absolutely!, Well said! – something short and sweet. If you
can’t go a few times, at least try to go once during that day.

6. When it is YOUR day for the POTP, repeat your reserving comment* as a POST – try to
do this before 8 am. Then, be sure to spend a lot of time on your page that day so that you
can respond to the comments.

7. When people have “participated in the party,” they should enter a comment below the
POST. If you decide that you want a different page as the POTP, you are welcome to post
something different.

8.  At this time, only post ONE page per person. When everyone who wants a turn has cycled
through, we will start over.

9.  Obviously, the more that you participate in this process, the more participation you will have
when it is your turn.

As with most of my new ideas, this is an experiment. What do you think?  Please list your POTP below and let us know how it works for you.

Should You Convert your Facebook Profile to a Page? NO!

NOTE: I just got word (April 4, 2011) that Facebook has removed this feature. I guess that a lot of people are pretty upset about it. Remember – you heard it here first (I hope!).

*******************************************************************************

Recently, Facebook rolled out a new feature that allows you to change convert your Facebook Personal Profile to a Page.

At first glance, this seems like a good idea if your primary purpose for being on Facebook is to generate business. However, there are two big things to consider before you take this action:

1. You will LOSE your Personal Profile – all messages, pictures, wallposts, etc.. Your account will be converted to a Business Account. Your pictures will be transferred and all of your friends will be automatically added as people who LIKE your page. However, no other content will be carried over to your new page. (There is a way to save it though.)

2. Without a Personal Profile, you cannot interact with someone else’ Personal Profile. So, anyone that you are FRIENDS with now, you will NO LONGER be friends with.

3. You can NOT undo this.
Once you convert, you cannot go back to a profile. However, Facebook seems to leave open the opportunity for you to create a NEW personal profile – using a different email I’m sure.

Although it initially sounded like a great idea, I’m going to wait a while on this one until Facebook works out some of the kinks. The KINKS are BIG.

Have you made the conversion? Are you thinking about it? I’d love to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Here is a post from someone who did this and wishes she hadn’t. Read Christina Warren’s story:
